Fabricly Brands FAQ

How does Fabricly work?

Fabricly is a new way for fashion labels to find high quality suppliers of manufacturing and materials. You can discover new suppliers on Fabricly by creating an open RFQ for suppliers to bid on, or by using our supplier search feature.

Alternatively, you can invite suppliers you already know and trust and have them submit their bids privately and securely in a closed auction. This allows you to quickly get an overview of costs and is an invaluable tool to manage production and control your costs.

What is an RFQ?

RFQ stands for Request for Quotes. It is an easy and structured way to set out your production requirements and gather quotes from suppliers. The main benefit is that you can quickly get an idea of prices from a wide range of sources. This is indispensable when costing and planning your collection. You can then choose which supplier you want to work with.

Why is Fabricly better than a directory?

Fabricly gives you much more detailed information. Most importantly, we take extensive measures to ensure the quality of suppliers in the network. Our unique RFQ system structures the process of gathering quotes and communicating with suppliers, making it much easier to manage than emails scattered around your inbox.

Think of it as all the benefits of a sourcing agent without the exorbitant fees!

Why is Fabricly better than a sourcing agent?

Fabricly gives you much of the same peace of mind that working with an experienced agent does, but with a much broader network of suppliers. Also, Fabricly does not take any cut or commission from your deal helping you get the best value possible.

What if I already know what suppliers I'm going to use?

Fabricly is still very useful. If you know a few different suppliers who may be suitable for a certain production run you can invite them to submit their quotes privately and securely through Fabricly.

Running a private RFQ through the site makes it much easier to manage the process of collecting quotes from many suppliers. Instead of receiving quotes via phone and email, simply log in and track them from one place.

What if I want to strike up a long term relationship with a supplier from Fabricly?

You are encouraged to establish long-term business relationships with the suppliers in our network. We recommend that you keep running RFQs through the site simply because it's a convenient way to work.

Fabricly does not work on a commission basis. Moreover suppliers will be happy to have more transactions logged in the system since it will improve their ratings.

How do I know that I'm dealing with quality suppliers?

Quality is the most important criteria for suppliers that are chosen for Fabricly membership. Only those with a proven track record of quality work and references are featured.

Just being listed is one indication of quality in itself. While we take precautions to ensure the quality of suppliers, we can not guarantee anything and we recommend you do your own due diligence before taking orders.

Who has access to my RFQs?

Only suppliers who have been vetted by Fabricly have access to your RFQs. You control how much information you want to give them up front. Keep in mind that the more detailed the information, the better the quality and accuracy of quotes you receive.

How safe is it to use a supplier found on Fabricly?

There is some risk in any buyer/seller relationship.

Fabricly reduces that risk by giving you access to detailed information about suppliers, along with insight into a supplier's track record. We take supplier reliability very seriously and will investigate any reports of questionable business practises.

How secure is the site?

All our servers are hosted in private racks in a secure UK datacenter. RAID arrays mean that we have fault tolerant data storage, along with redundant databases running on privately networked machines. All sensitive data is transmitted over secure, encrypted SSL connections.

How much does membership of Fabricly cost?

Fabricly is currently free to use. We may add premium features in the future. We will notify you well in advance of any change to pricing.

The group's main source of income is World on a Hanger, an application that helps designers, manufacturers and agents manage their production and sales more efficiently.
